Introducing Swapryn Cam: a virtual camera for realtime face swap

Until now, using a realtime face swap meant wrestling with capture software and hoping your app could see the output. With this release, Swapryn installs a proper virtual camera device — Swapryn Cam — that shows up anywhere you’d normally pick a webcam.

That means no plugins for the people you’re talking to, and no fragile screen-capture chains. Pick the face, start the swap, and select Swapryn Cam as your source. Everything runs on your own machine.

How it works under the hood

Each frame from your real camera is captured, swapped by the local engine, and written to the virtual camera in real time. Because the output is a standard system camera, apps like Zoom, Meet, Teams, Discord and OBS treat it exactly like any other webcam.

Setting it up

Getting started takes about a minute:

• Install Swapryn and, when prompted, allow the one-time driver install.
• Load a source face or upload your own image.
• Toggle Start Face Swap to bring the pipeline online.
• In your app, choose Swapryn Cam from the camera list.

No internet connection is required for swapping itself — the network is only used for signing in and billing. Your video never leaves your PC.
