Fixing "Swapryn Cam" not showing up in your app

If Swapryn Cam isn’t showing up as a camera option in another app, work through these steps in order — the fix is almost always one of the first three.

1. Confirm the driver installed

Open Swapryn and check the dock for “Driver active” next to Swapryn Cam. If it’s missing, click Manage and reinstall the driver — this triggers the one-time Windows permission prompt again.

2. Restart the other app

Most video apps enumerate cameras once at launch. If you installed the driver while the app was already open, fully quit and reopen it rather than just refreshing the device list.

Good to know

Browser-based apps (Meet, some web versions of Zoom) sometimes cache camera permissions per-tab. A hard refresh, or a new tab, usually clears this.

3. Check the app isn’t blocking virtual cameras

A small number of apps explicitly filter out virtual camera devices for anti-spoofing reasons. If Swapryn Cam still doesn’t appear after steps 1 and 2, this is the likely cause — reach out to support and we’ll confirm.

4. Reboot as a last resort

Windows occasionally needs a full restart to pick up a newly installed camera driver. This resolves the remaining edge cases.
